Energy surveys expert highlights green manufacturing growth
A report released by a sustainability think tank states that commercial pressures are boosting green manufacturing and early investors are reaping the benefits.
Bringing together thinking from more than 150 CSR experts, this research found that 68% of respondents thought that returns on green investments have been ‘attractive’. The business case was identified as the primary driver for these investments, with emphasis placed on the ability of green manufacturing to act as a catalyst for innovation.
Resource-efficient processes, such as circular economy developments, were recognised as having a valuable role to play in the growth of this sector. At Concept Energy Solutions, as an energy data management expert, we are pleased to see the growing understanding that low-carbon manufacture is an opportunity not to be missed.
Concept Energy is a footprint reporting specialist and Peter Stockwell, one of our directors, says: “As an energy management firm, we know that greater energy efficiency enables businesses to save money and gain a competitive edge.”
He adds: “The manufacturers leading the way with these innovative processes are already seeing returns on their investments. We anticipate that more businesses will join them, in order to boost growth, meet environmental legislation and increase resilience to rising energy and resource costs.”
