Energy consultants welcome recognition of sustainability as strategic measure
A recent study conducted by McKinsey has found that the number of CEOs labelling sustainability as their top priority has more than doubled over the last two years.
The global management consulting firm ran an online survey that polled 3,344 executives across different regions, industries and company sizes. It found that 13% see sustainability as their most important priority, compared to 5% in 2012.
The report also reveals that executives believe that sustainability is becoming a more strategic and integral part of their business. At Concept Energy Solutions, as carbon consultants, we see sustainability as an important issue within any organisation and we help our clients to realise the benefits on many levels – from staff engagement through to investor approval.
Concept Energy is an energy management expert and Peter Stockwell, one of our directors, says: “Many businesses are already benefitting from the competitive edge of embedding sustainable practices into their operations. In order to reap the greatest energy and CO2 savings, it is vital to change your position on energy and environment at every level. This is why developing a sustainability strategy is imperative.”
He adds: “We’re pleased to see that a growing number of organisations are switched on to the need for high-level strategy in the carbon-reduction process.”
