Energy management expert comments on energy security concerns
The Chief Executive of the National Grid has spoken on Radio 5 live about the risk of power cuts due to the closure of power plants in the UK.
Steve Holliday said that, due to the decommissioning of lot of UK energy generation, the maximum supply during winter is lower than it was a few years ago. Despite this, he stated that we would be ‘OK’, due to measures put in place by the National Grid, Ofgem and the government.
This comes after the announcement last October that the UK was at its highest risk of power cuts for six years. At Concept Energy Solutions, an energy management firm, we urge businesses in the UK to protect themselves against future energy crises by improving their control of energy and emissions.
Concept Energy is an energy reduction expert, and Peter Stockwell, one of our directors, says: “Using energy surveys or energy feasibility studies, companies can work out how best to pursue energy-saving changes that will protect them against rising energy prices and boost their resilience to the risk of power shortages.”
