Carbon consultancy advises companies to make the most of ESOS
Concept Energy Solutions welcomes the progress that the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) represents and encourages businesses to get started immediately.
“Under ESOS, most businesses with over 250 employees will have to conduct and report on an energy efficiency audit by December 2015,” comments one of our directors, Peter Stockwell.
“This will be upon you before you realise! I’d recommend businesses gear up for the process now to access the potential benefits of ESOS right away. The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) states that an ESOS energy survey can identify potential cost savings totalling more than 13.5 times the cost of the audit.”
Concept Energy is an energy assessments expert and we are pleased to see that ESOS is taking things further than previous legislation. “Since it requires identification of the cost-effective energy reduction opportunities, ESOS can create significant financial savings,” says Peter Stockwell.
“But,” he adds, “to achieve these benefits, organisations must ensure that the accredited lead assessor they appoint to conduct the audit has the right expertise.”
“The valuable cost-saving benefits of ESOS will only be realised if businesses work with a professional who is qualified to conduct a detailed energy audit and ascertain the opportunities for energy saving. They need to know how to find retrofit technologies for every unique business.”
With high-quality energy surveys at the core of our services, Concept Energy is looking forward to being well-placed to help organisations with advice and recommendations from the outset. Peter says: “Find an assessor that knows their stuff and will help you take ESOS further than the audit or risk missing out!”
